Perfilador de Vento (Wind Profiler)
Wind profiling is an important activity in meteorological and climatological research, aviation, air quality monitoring and research, defense operations and land resource management. Many airport authorities use wind profilers to protect against vertical wind shear. Organizations that study air quality in urban areas use wind profilers for urban airshed modeling. Defense forces use mobile wind profilers as a ballistic tool for ranging artillery.
Vaisala is now able to offer an excellent wind profiling solution to customers in all these application areas. The Vaisala LAP®-3000 system is a Doppler radar, which provides vertical profiles of horizontal wind speed and direction, and vertical wind velocity to an altitude of 3 km above ground level.
